Oregon, Sports

When Oregon and Oregon State clash on the gridiron, what colors do you wear? Are you a diehard Ducks fan? A tried-and-true Beavers booster?

This fall, the History Press will publish a book dedicated to Oregon’s greatest college football rivalry complete with fan anecdotes, revealing accounts of pivotal game moments, and behind-the-scenes insights from players and coaches.

The Civil War Rivalry: Oregon vs Oregon State (History Press, fall 2013)

This is a book for the ages, and we’re trying something a little different… We’d like to represent an array of previously unpublished images in the final book, and we’re seeking historic and contemporary images of athletes on the field and the sidelines, pregame rallies, halftime speeches, sign-waving fans in the stands, game hardware, and souvenir programs to illustrate the storied past of the Civil War rivalry. If you’ve attended every game, if you’re a photographer,  if you have images of the rivalry in your collection, we’d love to consider your images for publication in the forthcoming book.

For more information, or to submit images, please contact commissioning editor Aubrie Koenig at aubrie.koenig@historypress.net. Please note that images must be received in digital format (300dpi minimum).
